Casa Emma Apartments originate from a family story deeply connected to Ponte Caffaro and Lake Idro. In the early 1960s, Mario and Emma began constructing the building that still houses their family and guests today. Initially, part of the house was used as a residence, while other areas hosted a printing business, which was later moved to Ponte Caffaro's industrial zone in the following years. The building was gradually renovated over time, preserving the memory of its beginnings.
In 2012, the family opened the B&B “La Vecchia Tipografia” on the upper floor, a name chosen specifically to honor the previous printing activity. Between 2015 and 2016, they developed the ground floor spaces, continuing a hospitality project that now includes Casa Emma and Casa Mario.
The apartments are located in a quiet area of the village, set back from the main road and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Idro. Family management, private living spaces, and proximity to nature make these accommodations ideal for couples, families, and groups of friends seeking the freedom to organize their days around the lake, hiking, and sports activities.
Casa Emma offers about 60 square meters of space and can accommodate up to six guests. It features a double bedroom, a second room with bunk beds, and a living area with a sofa bed, kitchen, and dining space. The balcony and private garden with a barbecue provide pleasant outdoor moments, while the independent entrance ensures privacy and autonomy throughout the stay.
Casa Mario, roughly 50 square meters, is situated entirely on the ground floor and is barrier-free. Designed to host up to four people, it includes a double bedroom and a living area with a sofa bed, kitchen, and lounge. From here, guests can access a private outdoor area furnished with a table and equipped with a barbecue, perfect for outdoor dining during the warmer months.
Both accommodations come with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and private parking. Guests traveling by bicycle or motorcycle can also use a dedicated garage, a convenient feature especially appreciated by two-wheel enthusiasts wishing to explore Lake Idro and the surrounding areas.
The stay is arranged on a self-catering basis, allowing guests to prepare breakfast independently in their own kitchen. Mornings can be enjoyed leisurely with a coffee and breakfast in the private outdoor spaces; nearby shops and bakeries offer fresh products daily to suit individual tastes.
Guests are welcomed by Gianmario and his family, who carry on this long tradition of home and hospitality with care and attentiveness. Their knowledge of the area enables them to recommend beaches, cycling paths, walks, outdoor activities, and nearby villages to visit, while also giving guests the full freedom and independence of an apartment stay.
